Ministry Structure
Social Justice Missions
One Small Group, One Ministry
- Ministry Overview
- One Small Group, One Ministry is a missional ministry in which a Small Group first builds a relationship with an individual, an organization, or a church that is not yet self-supporting in the area where the community is located, and then works in cooperation or partnership with them, or carries out the ministry independently, so that the ministry site becomes a church. As a representative social justice ministry carried out on the front lines of the church, it does not leave members as mere supporters. Members go directly to the local community where they live and to communities in need, meeting needs and bringing change so that justice is done, making the church an incarnational church.
- Ministry Details

- 2. Each Small Group takes responsibility for serving one ministry site

Use Public Transportation
- Ministry Overview
- Use Public Transportation is a church-wide campaign to reduce carbon dioxide, out of a desire for the church to take the lead in preserving and restoring the natural environment God created.
- Taking Part in the Use Public Transportation Campaign
- 1. By using public transportation, you can reduce carbon dioxide, the main cause of global warming, by 1 kg for every 5 km traveled.
- 2. You can show a minimum of consideration for the local community and residents who suffer from traffic congestion every Sunday.
- 3. By using public transportation, we can voluntarily ease our church's shortage of parking.
- 4. Through the campaign, people of all ages come to take part in restoring God's created order, learning the preciousness of the environment and the importance of life.
- Consideration for the Vulnerable
- Consideration for the vulnerable: On Sundays when public transportation is encouraged, the Pastoral Support Office will issue parking permits, upon advance request, for use of the church parking lot to members with disabilities, seniors aged 70 or older, expectant mothers, members accompanying a child 36 months or younger, and members with many children (three or more). (Only vehicles displaying a permit issued in advance may use the lot.)
- Campaign Schedule
- The Use Public Transportation campaign is held four times a year (once per quarter), but in light of recent environmental issues and the church's parking problems, it may be held more often. Our goal is for Sunday to be recognized, as far as possible, as a day for using public transportation, and we look forward to the voluntary participation of all members.

Restorative Justice
- Ministry Overview
- Restorative justice is justice that focuses on setting right the harm done to the community by unjust acts, rather than on punishing the one who committed the injustice. To this end, all the parties concerned gather, identify what harm occurred and how, and go through a process of deciding what should be done to set that harm right. Through this process, restorative justice achieves two aims. First, it helps offenders realize the harm caused by their actions and gives them the opportunity to make up for it (for example, financial compensation, apology and other forms of reparation, and measures to prevent recurrence), so that they can restore their relationship with the victim and return to the community. Second, it actively involves the victim in this process to relieve the helplessness and anxiety caused by the harm. Not only the victim and offender but also the community to which they belong take an active part in this process. In this way, restorative justice holds the offender accountable and compensates the victim for the harm, and also seeks to restore, through forgiveness and reconciliation, the relationships broken by the harmful act. Based on this concept of restorative justice, the Restorative Justice team is a ministry that studies and puts into practice biblical ways to resolve human rights harms and social conflicts caused by political oppression or structural injustice in our society, and to bring God's justice between people through the restoration of relationships.
- Ministry Details
- Care ministry for North Korean women living in China and their children : North Korean women who, after leaving North Korea, formed families with Chinese men and live in China are victims placed in a blind spot of human rights, harmed doubly by the oppressive North Korean regime and by the injustice of the Chinese government, which refuses to recognize refugee status. The Restorative Justice team works with local missionaries, through outreach and other means, to be a family of their birth home to these women and to share God's love with them.
- Ministry linked with Angel Tree : Through Onnuri Church's Angel Tree ministry, gifts are delivered to North Korean women living in China and their children, helping members remember them, pray for them, and support them.
- Domestic human rights ministry : Migrant workers and refugees living in Korea, and their children, can become victims of structural injustice in our society, such as racial discrimination. We find those among them who have suffered human rights harm and provide legal or financial help.

Sharing Market
- Ministry Overview
- During the 1997 IMF economic crisis, the church joined the gold-collecting movement as an expression of love for the nation and love for neighbors, and launched a church-wide recycling and sharing movement. In this setting, Onnuri Church set out to realize in our church the beautiful sharing seen in the Acts-like church, overcoming the economic crisis wisely and taking part in domestic social justice missions. Under the slogan "Let us become a church community full of brotherly love that shares what we own," items donated by members (clothing, books, household goods, and more) are sold at low prices to support the socially vulnerable, marginalized groups, missionaries, and rural and fishing village churches that are not yet self-supporting. With the purpose of sharing rather than selling, it held its founding service in February 1988 with the late Pastor Yongjo Ha, and opened on March 15 of that year.

Hanawon
- Ministry Overview
- This ministry supports the faith life and settlement in South Korean society of North Korean defectors who are receiving education at Hanawon (official name: North Korean Refugees Settlement Support Center) as a preparation course for adapting to life in South Korea, or who will settle in South Korea after completing Hanawon, and serves in particular as a platform that leads them to church.
- Ministry Details
- Hanawon (Hana Church) support ministry : On an agreed schedule, we visit Hana Church at Hanawon (Anseong and Hwacheon), where defectors receive 12 weeks of settlement support education after arriving in South Korea, to lead worship and fellowship with the defectors who worship there. We support Hanawon by serving as volunteers in the urban culture experience program held for all trainees as part of the Hanawon curriculum, and by running the "Outing" ministry, a program where those who worshiped together at Hana Church can meet their fellow trainees again right after completing Hanawon
- "Hanamo" prayer meeting : A prayer meeting where defectors who have completed Hanawon, South Korean members of the Hanawon ministry team, and South Korean members who have a heart for defector ministry gather every Wednesday at 7 PM to build oneness through worship, sharing, and prayer. It is an intercessory prayer ministry that befriends defectors in their early settlement and supports their faith life
- Settlement support ministry : A ministry that helps defectors who need help in the settlement process in various ways, such as small group meetings and evangelistic gatherings for those who have completed Hanawon, connecting them to churches based on where they live and their situation, and providing information and goods for early settlement
