Sending Missionaries

Missionary Sending Process

Onnuri Church sends missionaries overseas through a thorough training process and
supports them in many ways. Through the Onnuri M Centers we also share the gospel with migrants in Korea and, at the same time,
send trained leaders back to their home countries as missionaries to plant churches.

  1. STEP 1 Register with Onnuri Church and complete One-on-One training
  2. STEP 2 Enroll in a missions school - Why Mission, etc.
  3. STEP 3 Onnuri Missions One-Day Orientation
  4. STEP 4 Provisional admission to a mission agency - Tyrannus International Mission (TIM), etc.
  5. STEP 5 Missions training suited to the ministry (OSOM, TP)
  6. STEP 6 Onnuri missionary review (MRB)
  7. STEP 7 Submission to the Session (board of elders)
  8. STEP 8 Admission as an Onnuri missionary
  9. STEP 9 Commissioning

Missionary Care

Community Partner Missionary System

  • Under this system, every community, campus and overseas vision church of Onnuri Church is paired one-to-one with an Onnuri missionary and takes responsibility for supporting that missionary.
  • Each small group is responsible for intercessory prayer, financial support and ministry support so that churches are planted and local leaders are raised up through the missionary it is connected with; this missionary is called its "partner missionary." Each community's overseas outreach and missionary support are likewise based in the region where its partner missionary serves.

Missionary Support

  • Intercessory prayer for missionaries
  • Sending gifts to missionary kids (MKs): Children's Day, Christmas
  • Medical care and lodging when missionaries return to Korea
  • Various kinds of missionary support through outreach

Onnuri Missionary One-Day Orientation

  • Comprehensive guidance and consultation through the Onnuri Missionary One-Day Orientation, held twice a year
  • Orientation dates are announced in advance in the Onnuri Newspaper and on the church website.
