Live Out Your Mission (Acts 1:1~11)

2017.03.05Stephen Cha

Jesus' mission now continues through the Holy Spirit and his people, so believers must know the gospel story well, tell it in the Spirit's power, and go where they are sent, living for others rather than for their own happiness.

Know the whole story of Jesus and the gospel first (1-3)

The speaker says that Acts is Luke's second book, continuing what Jesus began to do and teach, and that Jesus is still building his church through the Holy Spirit and through the apostles. Jesus appeared alive to the disciples for 40 days after his resurrection with convincing proofs, so the resurrection is central to his story. The speaker explains the big picture: creation, the brokenness caused by sin, incarnation, the substitutionary life and death of Jesus, and resurrection. Our story becomes part of that story. The speaker says that when worry rises, we must preach the gospel to ourselves and live by Jesus' righteousness and forgiveness rather than by our own performance. Only then will our lives make Jesus known to others.','body':
